She Thought...
Sitting on the train tracks outside her home,
She laughed and cried, feeling all alone.
The boy she loved had sadly left,
Her heart he took, t'was his only theft.
Without a thought, without a care,
Suddenly he's gone, just on a dare,
She knows now not what to do
For he had always told her, "I love you."
She thought she was wanted,
She thought she was loved,
She thought she was someone,
She thought he was the one
Now the train is slowly coming,
She can hear the whistle, it's surely coming,
The ground is shaking, she knows it's coming,
She stands and faces what she knows is coming,
Soon it will be over, the closer its coming,
All she needs is a little more time,
All she needs is for this to end,
All she needs is already coming.
She thought she was wanted,
She thought she was loved,
She thought she was someone,
She thought he was the one
She closes her eyes and spreads her arms,
She gives herself up to Satan's charms.
But a hand is reaching out to grab her,
Someone's not going to let the devil have her.
His hands are pierced, his side is torn,
The clothes he wears, they seem so worn.
His face is gentle, and full of love,
She knows it's Him from up above.
She thought she was wanted,
She thought she was loved,
She thought she was someone,
She thought he was the one.
She falls into his arms, the tears pour down her face,
She doesn't deserve his perfect grace,
She doesn't deserve his love,
She doesn't deserve this stable brace.
She thought she was wanted,
She thought she was loved,
She thought she was someone,
She thought he was the one.
The next day she wakes to see the rising sun,
She wakes to know her life has just begun.
She was given a second chance,
She was given a chance to dance.
She lives now not for a boy,
She lives now not to be a toy,
She lives now to serve only one,
She lives now to serve the only Son.
She knows now that she's wanted,
She knows now that she's loved,
She knows now that she's someone
She knows now that He's the One.
